Matemo Island Fishing Holidays
Located in the breathtaking Quirimbas Archipelago in northern Mozambique, Matemo Island is blessed with beautiful beaches and thousands of palm trees swaying in the breeze. A perfect vista of endless white sand and translucent sea mesmerizes those who visit, whilst the untouched marine reserve allows for constant new discoveries, whether diving, snorkelling or fishing. Matemo is blessed with many drop offs, reefs and channels, which makes for many different structures, at different depths to target many different species of game fish.

Just eight kilometres long and three kilometres wide, Matemo Island is a magical destination. A 20–minute flight from mainland Pemba deposits guest in a tropical island paradise where time appears to stand still. Matemo is famous for kingfish, the most exciting of which to catch is the Ignoblis – the giant trevally or GT. Many other game fish species are also caught, even marlin. Shore fishing at high tide for barracuda, hunting the elusive bone fish with fly rods or spinning off a fishing kayak are all favourite pastimes among anglers.
